Guillermo Corea is a seasoned business leader with over 25 years of experience in digital media, business development, venture capital, and strategic management. Currently serving as the chief business innovation and growth officer at APA, he holds the distinction of being the first person appointed to this pivotal role. In this capacity, Corea is responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of innovative revenue generation strategies for both the association and its affiliate, APA Services, Inc. Corea brings a wealth of expertise to this role, underscored by his successful track record in launching new operations, expanding revenue streams, and fostering impactful partnerships.

 

Before joining APA, Corea spent nine years with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where he held various roles, culminating in his position as managing director, workplace innovation lab and venture capital. During his tenure at SHRM, he demonstrated a keen ability to lead innovative initiatives, including the launch of an impact investment vehicle, new business lines, and products. His strategic vision and leadership significantly contributed to the expansion of SHRM's e-commerce revenue.

 

Corea's career has spanned across diverse sectors, including roles at Scripps Networks, Ciena, and TMG Custom Media. His international experience in managing operations and expanding into global markets has further enriched his skill set. 

 

Advisory Boards

In addition to his role at the APA, Corea serves as an advisory board member for the Velocity Network Foundation, a nonprofit organization established by Velocity Career Labs, focusing on innovative blockchain technology. His involvement underscores his dedication to contributing to cutting-edge initiatives and supporting research and development within the technology sector.

 

Education

Corea holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BA in economics from Lynchburg College.
